Hi Vicky
Our fix – just downgrade the browser : https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/50.1.0/

Something that I bookmarked a while ago was this extension for Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/keyboard-surfing/hmaflaokeodbfghjjgmakejjjjfhihpi – it looks way nicer than mousless browsing IMHO – but as I say - haven’t tried it. (Yep – it does have quite a few commands – but mapping a key to E and D – and return – would suffice for a lot of needs with using a few favourite links setup in a Grid page).

Subject: [QUAR] Alternative to mouseless browsing

Hi All,

I wanted to set up Mouseless Browsing (Firefox Add-on) for a client who can use eyegaze to select large cells within Grid3, but who can’t use eyegaze to select areas of the screen outside of the Grid because she cannot fixate her gaze well enough for the system to recognise a dwell (due to nystagmus). Mouseless browsing would have solved it because I could have made a grid with digits which she could have selected from, however I have just discovered that Mouseless Browsing no longer works in the latest version of Firefox. This client can’t use a switch.

One alternative would be to use the browser within the Grid, but that would mean a lot of tabbing around links, which would be quite impractical.

I was wondering if anyone knows of anything similar to Mouseless Browsing which might work? I’ve seen there are Chrome extensions called Keyboard Navigation and Keyboard Control, but these use letter combinations instead of numbers, so the Grid would have to be larger to contain all the letters than it would just to contain 0-9, and would cover most of the screen, defeating the purpose. Also, they are not official extensions as Mouseless Browsing was.

Or if anyone can spot any options I have missed, please let me know!

Best Wishes,

Vicky
