Associate Editor

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Editor at a scientific Learned Society based in Central London. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for handling journal submissions and the peer-review process, ensuring high quality across the two journals, one of which is over 100 years old. You will also work alongside the Managing Director on commissioning, identifying opportunities in terms of contributors, articles and topics.

This is a fantastic position for someone looking to have autonomy in making decisions on accepting and rejecting non-solicited submissions. You will be joining a small and successful team, in a collaborative environment where you will have a holistic view of the doings of the whole society and how the work of each team impacts on the whole organisation.

 

The ideal candidate will have a biomedical background, with demonstrable experience in managing journals and the peer-review process. You will have been responsible for decision-making on submissions and will be keen to be solely responsible for this for the Society.
