Hi Ben,

Thanks for your response; really appreciated. The only thing I would say is that we are using the latest version 4.5.1 and it is still mandatory. I don't think I'll be able to do Adlib Designer work for this Client remotely (I assume that's how you make it non-mandatory).

The only feedback I would provide is that fields shouldn't become mandatory unless they absolutely have to be; it creates unnecessary information being inputted and affects the software's usability.

Thanks for getting back to me Ben :)

Hi Robin,

You've got it--Barcode is basically just another way of saying 'Location Reference Code'. If you don't plan on using a barcode scanner to document object moves, you can make this field non-mandatory (and, if you update to the newest Adlib application version, 4.5.1, it is no longer mandatory there). I've put together a guide on removing the field's mandatory status, if you are interested.

Best,
Ben

Hi all,

I've recently installed Adlib 7 for a client and have noticed that 'Barcode' has become an essential fuel under the current location table. Am I missing something? Is this supposed to mean 'location code'?

Thanks all...

Robin
