Dear All,

We are looking to appoint a qualified librarian / information professional preferably with a minimum of 1-2 years' experience working in a healthcare setting, academic or specialist library. The role will lead and develop an evidence-based library outreach service at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

QEHB Library outreach service aims to connect Trust staff and placement students with high quality evidence relevant to their needs, which will underpin decision making, contribute to safe effective patient care and improve outcomes in education and learning. Based in the Library within a busy education centre, you will be the primary contact for all outreach enquiries and will regularly engage with multidisciplinary staff in other locations throughout the Trust. You will have responsibility for designing and delivering bespoke evidence-based information services to address specific needs and priorities within clinical and non-clinical teams. A proven ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation is essential and an enthusiasm for education and training is expected. Other duties will include evaluating outreach activities and working with the Library Manager to review the impact of the service, making sure that outcomes are aligned with appropriate drivers, such as the Health Education England 'Knowledge for Healthcare' strategy.

The role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload with minimal supervision. You will coordinate outreach activities within the library team working closely with library colleagues to fulfil information requests, attend department meetings and participate in Trust-wide events. You will have responsibility for line managing the Library Support Assistant: Training and Outreach which provides an excellent opportunity to develop leadership and supervisory/mentoring experience. A full description of duties and the person specification is available to download on the NHS Jobs website.

QEHB Library is committed to supporting the Trust's priorities for excellence in patient care and driving research and innovation to improve health outcomes.

Applications must be made via the NHS Jobs website<https://www.jobs.nhs.uk/xi/vacancy/78673ce5f9460c58c8b2f62c378d792a/?vac_ref=914651367> (no CVs or direct applications will be accepted). All correspondence concerning this vacancy will be sent by email, so please check your email account regularly.
