CILIP Careers Day: North

The exact programme is yet to be confirmed, but sessions will include:

• The value of professional registration: Dan Livesey, NWMN Candidate Support Officer, and Gil Young, NWMN Mentor Support Officer.
• ‘The Accidental Librarian’: Durham Cathedral Special Collections Librarian Sarah-Jane Raymond. 
• The Future Library and Information Professionals Network (FLIP Network): support and advice from its founders, Sarah Arkle and Suzannah Bridge. 
• New Library Professionals Network (NLPN): a network based in the North West ‘concerned with all things library for new professionals’.
• ‘Tricky Interview Questions’: Jayne Winch and Tracey South, CB Resourcing
• ‘Making the Most of Opportunities’; Dawn Grundy, University of Bolton Subject Librarian and Secretary to ARLG North West.

There will be parallel sessions of approximately 40 minutes each running at various points during the day, and attendees will be invited to sign up for their preferred sessions once the programme has been finalised.

 Cost:

• CILIP North members: £20 plus VAT
• Non-members and members of other Member Networks: £35 plus VAT

Places are limited to 30 and priority will be given to members of Member Networks in the north of England.
Tea/coffee and refreshments will be provided on arrival and mid-afternoon. Lunch will also be included, though attendees are welcome to make use of catering venues around the University campus.
