Managing Study Space: fair space for all
12 June 2017, De Morgan House, The London Mathematical Society
Faced with large numbers of students looking for a place to study and changing styles of teaching that use more group work, libraries need to move away from their traditional design
and role and be pro-active in helping readers find study space to suit their needs. This session looks at how some libraries are making these changes.
Globalised Communities: Librarians Facing the Challenges of the HEI Landscape
14 June 2017, The Library, Goldsmiths, University of London
The current HE landscape is ever shifting and uncertain terrain for Library professionals. How are middle and senior managers dealing with the challenging terrain? How are all levels of library
staff navigating their CPD progression as well as meeting the needs of their users in the light of post Brexit HE realities? Furthermore what can we learn from case studies of international colleagues who are facing similar and dissimilar professional challenges?

Access to Higher Education for Refugees and Asylum Seekers
21 June 2017, British Medical Association, Tavistock Square
The plight of refugees and asylum seekers, fleeing from war, persecution and poverty, has arguably never been more in the public eye. Many are young people, who are either displaced
students or who wish to attend university in order to improve their life prospects. However, they face the same fees as international students and have no access to loans or grants that would help cover the costs of study.
