Dear LIS-LINKers

 

Has anyone had any issues with orders being placed for online resources from Hodder Education (more specifically Dynamic Learning)? 

 

Yesterday evening I received a number of emails informing me that orders had been placed by tutors for various online resources.  These orders appear to have been placed without going through the proper ordering procedures i.e. getting the order authorised by a budget holder so that we can allocate funds for the subscription etc.

 

When I challenged Hodder Education about this I was informed that anyone who has a registered teacher account with Dynamic Learning and whose email address matches our email domain can place orders via Dynamic Learning.  I tried to argue the case that ordering should be restricted to an administrator account but was told that ‘that is how the website works’ and that they have no intention of changing the ordering process.  I was also told that no other school or college had any complaints about the way the ordering process works.

 

I would really appreciate any feedback on this as it felt as though I was being fobbed off by them.
