Good morning everyone,

Allow me to introduce myself as a new lis-bibliometrics committee member:

I am a Bibliometrics Support Assistant based in the library at The University of Manchester. As well as plenty of number-crunching for faculties and university leadership teams I also facilitate training in the use of SciVal amongst academics and research support staff.

Prior to this job I worked at Jisc in the Web of Science support service for UK education funded by Clarivate Analytics. I was also a Senior Library Assistant at The Open University library, and before joining the library field I worked in finance and production for a trade publisher.

My professional interests revolve around bibliometrics (naturally) and also the challenges of/advances in monograph publishing (I recently finished an MA in Publishing Studies at Oxford Brookes on this very topic).

I’m looking forward to meeting fellow ‘bibliomagicians’ during the course of my involvement with the committee.

Kind regards,
Madeleine

Subject: New Lis-Bibliometrics Committee

Dear colleagues,

I am delighted to announce that the Lis-Bibliometrics Committee has some fantastic new additions!  The new members are listed below, and I am sure they will take the opportunity to introduce themselves over the next few days.

·         Ray Kent, Royal Veterinary College

·         Alicia Gomez-Sanchez, University of Hertfordshire

·         Abigail McBirnie, University of Surrey

·         Madeleine Pearson, University of Manchester

·         Ian Rowlands, Kings College London

Both Charles Oppenheim and Michael Norris have now stepped down from the Committee, but we look forward to their continued involvement in list discussions.

We’re very grateful to everyone who put their name forward, we really were spoilt for choice.  It’s great to part of such a dedicated and active community!

Best regards

Lizzie
