Concern over the nature and remuneration for posts advertised through GEM appears to be on the increase. Whether that be jobs that are described as “consultant” which are really members of staff or jobs that are offering pay below the living wage, it’s a worrying trend.
Can someone at GEM give us a steer on what vetting (for want of a better word) adverts go through before they are posted?
If there currently isn’t any, should there be?

I would agree Kim– the other concern I have is at £150 a day they are wanting to have travel inclusive for a project that is working at lots of different sites. Therefore the take home by the end of all the overheads will be minimal.

Interesting contract. It feels more like it should be a part-time fixed term position, really, given the specification of days per month and day rate. What does everyone else think?
