Dear all
Newcastle College also offer a level 5 foundation degree education and training for English, literacy and language specialists which is similar in content and assessment to DT(E)LLS. The qualification enables graduates to apply for QTLS.
Best wishes

Hello Dominic
The DET (Diploma in Education) has replaced DTLLS but it is very similar in content.
However, there's a dearth of specialist ESOL DET qualifications out there now that it is no longer mandatory for teachers to be 'qualified'.
Many ESOL teachers end up doing the generic DET and/or an EFL-style Diploma.
I think the IoE in London offer an ESOL Literacy specialist DET so it maybe worth contacting them.

Hello everyone

One of the teachers who volunteers in the organisation where I

coordinate the English classes is extremely keen to progress into

paid ESOL work. She has already gained the CELTA qualification

and now wishes to study further to improve her prospects of

gaining paid ESOL work. A few years ago I completed the DTLLS

(ESOL) qualification and this was very relevant to my progression

in ESOL.  My understanding is that this specific qualification is no

longer available, has this been replaced with another qualification

aimed at ESOL teachers ?

Regards

Dominic
