Good morning, As part of a joint Medical Education & Library Services project to improve the quality and range of medical teaching for our junior doctors, I’ve been asked to find out if other Trusts have an induction programme/document/process for their clinical educators. We all have induction processes for new staff to the Trust of course, whether Foundation, CT or other grades, but when consultants and others make themselves available for delivering teaching, do you have a formal induction or training to ensure consistency of delivery and teaching standards? External qualifications & standards such as QESP etc are known, it’s more the internal processes to ensure they understand and comply with requirements and commitments that we are trying to identify and improve. Any summaries of induction programmes, or induction handbooks, aimed at new clinical teaching would be very welcome. I will be happy to summarise results for the list.
