According to a June 2016 IT survey from Red Hat Storage, 68% of IT decision makers say their organizations will run out of money allocated to data storage. Archiving data can free up pricey real estate on your performance-storage tier. Despite this, many enterprises struggle with archiving inertia when evaluating what data to archive.

In some cases, they embrace the notion of data archiving as something that's nice to have rather than as a must-have solution. But in many cases, they don’t archive data because they worry they’ll archive data they should leave in primary storage.
