Production Editor

Our client, a leading life sciences publisher is recruiting for a Production Editor for their South Oxfordshire office. This is a unique opportunity to work for an internationally acclaimed not-for-profit company.

The main responsibilities of the role include the selection and management of freelancers, manuscript approval for typesetting, quality control, lay-out preparation, collation of proof corrections and liaising with the editorial teams. The successful candidate will maintain the production schedule finalize all press copy.

The successful candidate will have a science background.. You will have demonstrable experience of working in a publishing environment and be innovative and technologically savvy. You will have an excellent eye for detail and solid copyediting/proofreading skills. Experience of XML workflows would be beneficial.
