STEM Project Coordinator (Fixed-Term)

The UK Student Recruitment and Outreach team is seeking a new STEM Project Support Coordinator to join our enthusiastic and creative team. The STEM strand within the Outreach team works with a diverse range of audiences including primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and academies, specialist target groups including young carers, looked after children and students with special educational needs, in addition to contributing to public engagement events in the region. Our target secondary schools are located across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset with increased activity on the borders with Hampshire, Wiltshire and South Somerset.

The STEM Project Support Coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring effective delivery of our programme so we are looking for a highly organised, flexible person with excellent project management skills who is able to travel across the region including working out of hours. This post is responsible for recording the monitoring and evaluation of the programme therefore an ideal candidate would bring creative ideas on new evaluation activities appropriate for our target audiences. This role leads the relationship management with our target schools in addition to helping recruit, train and manage our team of specialist student ambassadors.

Our programme of workshops covers subjects from animation to engineering, fossils to computer programming and chemistry to paramedic science. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of development of educational activities as we design new interactive workshops for bespoke groups. We are looking for a confident presenter with good communication and classroom management skills.

This is a diverse role which is constantly evolving as we respond to local and regional requests; this could be anything from running workshops for years 5 & 6 pupils during British Science Week at Paulton’s Park to developing programming activities for secondary school pupils with special educational needs.

Salary: Starting salary from £20,624 - £23,164 per annum with progression opportunities to £25,298
