re: Participation in Living Theory Research in anEcology of Knowledges, workshop, Prof. Jack Whitehead, University of Cumbria

This is apre-conference workshop: 1st Global Assembly for Knowledge Democracy: Towardsan Ecology of Knowledges Cartagena, 2017. Thesession will be videoed and a report produced to add to the report accessedfrom: https://knowledgedemocracy.org/2017/02/15/report-on-the-carn-study-daypre-conference-workshop/

In preparation Jackand I thought you might feel energized and inspired by the questions Budd Hallis asking of himself, to form your own, related questions:

1. Howdo I ‘decolonize’, ‘deracialise,’ demasculanise and degender my inherited‘intellectual spaces?’

2. Howdo I support the opening up of spaces for the flowering of epistemologies, ontologies, theories, methodologies, objects and questions other than thosethat have long been hegemonic, and that have exercised dominance over (perhapshave even suffocated) intellectual and scholarly thought and writing?

3. Howdo I contribute to the building of new academic cultures and, more widely, newinclusive institutional cultures that genuinely respect and appreciatedifference and diversity – whether class, gender, national, linguistic, religious, sexual orientation, epistemological or methodological in nature?

4. Howdo I become a part of creating the new architecture of knowledge that allowsco- construction of knowledge between intellectuals in academia andintellectuals located in community settings?   (Hall, 2015, p.12)

Whether or not youwill be in Cartagena you can still havea presence and help spreadglobally the influence of knowledge that carries hope for the flourishing ofhumanity by sending me at  [log in to unmask] ASAP orby 2nd June:

1.    Examples of your published accounts where you have researched into somethingimportant to you with questions of the form, ‘How do I…?’ and includevalues-based explanations of your educational influence in learning. Send us PDF or WORD files ofpapers/chapters/presentations or prepublication drafts that don’t breachcopyright and/or urls for where your published work can be accessed, such asyour own website or your university, LinkedIn.com, Researchgate.com,academia.edu etc. webpages.

2.     Yourindividual living-poster and posters of groups and networks you are a member of. For examples and details visit http://www.actionresearch.net/writings/posters/homepage220417.pdf

Hi Marie,
Thank you for your participation. This is wonderful news. I am attaching my revised version of the first ARNA Knowledge Mobilization Paper. I have updated the piece based on the work on the Global Assembly from August 2016 up to the present.
I do hope that you will be a part of the loomio discussions that are now being set up by members of the June 16 Design Team for the Global Assembly. We are excited about the dialogues that have been taking shape through the participatory workshops, starting with the one you, Jackie and Jack convened in February.
Much to do; Glad to be able to contribute.

 Hi Jack (and all),
I shall be participating ‘virtually’ in the Pre Global Assembly workshop to be held in Cartagena, Columbia on the 12th June.  I shall be doing what I can to extend the global conversations we began with Jacqueline Delong on the 8th May 2015 at the ARNA Town Hall Meeting, convened by Jacqueline in Toronto. We continued the conversation in the first participatory workshop for the Global Assembly on the 4th February 2017 with our report at https://knowledgedemocracy. org/2017/02/15/report-on-the-c arn-study-daypre-conference-wo rkshop/ I’m hoping that members of this practitioner-researcher e-forum will engage with this report and submit their own living-posters to be added to the homepage at:
http://www.actionresearch.net/ writings/posters/homepage01021 7.pdf
If you (or any other participant) have urls to your work, writings or activities to add to a home pages section at:
http://www.actionresearch.net/ otherpages.shtml
please let me have them, so that we can extend our dialogue and include participants from around the world…
Hope you are enjoying plenty to smile about
Marie
