Principle Job Purpose

 

To be responsible for the care and documentation of the collections, and to assist in the development of the Museums Service for the benefit of the local community and visitors.

 

Merthyr Tydfil Museums Service is responsible for the management of Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery and Joseph Parry’s Ironworker’s Cottage.

 

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and well-organised person with experience of working with museum collections. This Maternity cover post will ensure the Museums Service maintains high standards in the care of its collection, including documentation, conservation and environmental monitoring as well as providing access to the collection through its interpretation and display of exhibitions.

Closing date for all applications is 18^th May (5 p.m.) with interviews to be held on June 1^st.
