Personally I use tinyurl.com . You can create your own shortened links with memorable names. It's remotely hosted, so there's nothing for you to set up.
Don Undeen@donundeenHi MiaStrongly recommend YOURLS (yourls.org) - it is open source, self hosted (thus ensuring unrestricted access onsite should be easier) but very simple to install and maintain, and has a bazillion useful features such as importing URLs from csv files, mass updating of URLs, quite cool stats... It can be run from whatever domain you wish and you can configure a format for the urls themselves (from manual keyword to 2 digit number or whatever)BestPaulHi MiaYou could try https://www.rebrandly.com/ (caveat: I've not tried it personally). It does need you to have a spare domain though.KatieOn Thu, May 11, 2017 at 1:54 PM, Mia R <[log in to unmask]> wrote:Hey all,
It's pretty much as the subject line says - we're looking for a link shortener for exhibition captions. I've seen some that use easily typed words instead of something that looks like a strong password - any recommendations?
I know we'll need to check they aren't blocked on visitor wifi - any other gotchas to look out for?
Someone suggested blippar but I'm not convinced people would download an app just to access a link!
Cheers,
Mia
