Hi Janet,

It is a common problem that emails from useful tools like Mail Chimp, Xero accounting system, other cloud based applications, get blocked by spam filters or IT policies.
One reason is because the spam filter can detect that an email looks like it’s from your email but in fact, as can be detected in the email header, it is from the application, e.g. Mail Chimp or Xero. This can stop some genuine and opted in emails getting to their destination. One solution is to ask for Mail Chimp to be added as a safe domain. This however may not be desirable as it then opens the floodgates to any emails from senders using this service. Xero is a sensible one to add to your safe senders list as senders don’t usually spam via a finance system!

Dear All,

Has anyone had experience of trying to use MailChimp and the emails being blocked by your trust’s IT department or NHS relay? That appears to be happening here, but before I approach our help desk I’d like to be armed with a few facts. Fortunately I’m still at the setting up stage so no readers are yet failing to receive anything.

Janet

Hello All,

We are also looking at expanding our current awareness service. We are initially going to use MailChimp, like you do Hannah, but we are interested to know more about Netvibes.

I have had a quick look at their website and see that there are different pricing levels - Basic, VIP, Premium and For Teams. Could anyone that uses Netvibes tell me which pricing levels you use and whether you would recommend using it for current awareness? Have you had good feedback from your users? Any problems encountered along the way? Is it easy to set up and maintain? Is it easy to get statistics as to how many people are looking at the information and which parts are the most popular?

Thanks and kind regards,

Caroline

Subject: Current Awareness Bulletins

Hello all

We are hoping to expand the distribution of our current awareness bulletins (CABs). As part of doing this, I am looking at the format that we use. I wondered whether any of you are willing to share with me examples of the formats (and type of content, if possible) that you use for your CABs?

Thanks

Sarah
