Encounters, in partnership with the Goethe Institut, is thrilled to present its first instalment of Virtual Encounters in Johannesburg this weekend.

Panelists for Black Filmmakers Forum now confirmed

Encounters is thrilled to announce the panellists for the Black Filmmakers Forum discussion: Sylvia VollenhovenVuyokazi Matu and  Weeam Williams will be in conversation about the role of broadcasters and how their support or lack thereof affects us on a local and international level.

Encounters Industry Events Day in Johannesburg announced

Encounters, in partnership with the Goethe Institut, will be hosting an industry events day in Johannesburg. The event is free and the Festival encourages filmmakers, industry and students to attend.

Encounters has just had confirmation that Last Men in Aleppo director, Firas Fayyad will no longer be joining the Festival this year. 

Last Men in Aleppo is a Grand Jury Prize winner at Sundance this year and not to be missed!
