Hi

I know that there have been some very useful discussions on here in the past on online resources.  I have had a look around but I am looking for something that is entirely self-access (i.e. no tutor in-put)

It is for a programme I look after at the British Museum for Iraqi Archaeologists as part of a Emergency Heritage Management Training Scheme. Once they arrive in the UK, we provide them with 1-week of contextualised ELT and then weekly classes.

The issue has been in getting them to do a little bit of work beforehand.

I know the British Council offer (paid) online courses of up to 40 hours online learning through local British Council offices but we don't have the time or budget for this (sadly) so looking at online opportunities or apps.

I have looked at Learn English (British Council) - this has good sets of resources but I see these as follow up resources (which we might use in the course). However has anyone had experience of using the apps? https://www.britishcouncil.org.eg/en/english/learn-online/learn-english-apps and instructing learners to use them.

I also looked at www.bbc.co.uk/learningenglish/english/course/lower-intermediate but wondered how easy this was to access for learners working alone. The same goes for the Future Learn / British Council course:
https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/explore-english-language-culture

Any feedback on people's experiences would be welcome. The list is such a great resource.

Best wishes

Jo
