Dear Stephan:

There is a great little section on ‘Writing Beliefs and the Teacher's Role’ in Hammann, L. (2005) “Self-regulation in Academic Writing Tasks”, International Journal of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education 17(1), 15-26. Also, see her bibliography for the location of other sources on the topic, particularly

Subject: Which studies on lecturers’ attitudes/beliefs about the development of students’ writing competence would you recommend?

Dear colleagues

We are developing a questionnaire aimed at lecturers who teach writing at higher education institutions. The questionnaire aims to find out:

What attitudes/beliefs lecturers have about developing students’ writing competence

What lecturers report they do to develop students’ writing competence

Which current or older studies that examine lecturers’ attitudes/beliefs or their behaviours (self-reported or observed) regarding the development of students’ writing competence would you recommend?

In appreciation of your suggestions.

Best wishes

Stephan Meyer

Ich freue mich auf Ihre Antwort auf Deutsch oder Englisch.
