Hello all
I'm currently working with a North London council to recruit an experienced Information Management Officer for a six month contract. The Information Management Officer will provide coordinated and specialist advice and support to the council on all areas of information management.
The Information Management Officer will be a specialist in information management legislation, working to ensure that the council complies with all information legislation, providing professional advice on information management matters. In particular the Information Management Officer will support and lead on initiatives to promote good governance and transparency across the council, and lead on the council’s response to Freedom of Information (FoI) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR). The Information Management Officer will also investigate potential data protection breaches and support training activities for staff, link officers and other groups.
To succeed in this job, knowledge of and experience of applying information management legislation (including FoI, EIR and DPA) is essential, as is the ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and using your own initiative.
This job would give someone with a proactive, can-do attitude the opportunity to bring their strong knowledge of FoI and DPA to bear to support activities across the council. Pay rate: circa £40,000 - £42,000
