Are you an academic/researcher/teacher in Higher Education/student attending a conference (including a one-day conference) between now and 17th July 2017?
-
Do you have caring responsibilities (including children, parents and other relatives, pets, friends and kin)?
If so, you are invited to participate in a research project about academic conferences and caring responsibilities. The project is a small-scale exploratory study called 'In two places at once: the impact
of caring responsibilities on academics' conference participation' (funded by the University of Warwick Research Development Fund).
The process involves:
- Before the conference: a short conversation (by email/Skype/phone/face-to-face if possible) in which you will learn about the project and be asked to complete the consent form.
- At/just after the conference: before the conference, you will be sent a user-friendly time questionnaire for you to record when you have contact with/deal with/think about your
caring responsibilities at the conference.
- After the conference: an interview (by Skype/face-to-face if possible; this will be audio-recorded) of approx. one hour based on your completed time questionnaire, and some questions
about your conference attendance in general.
