Hi Chris

We found when the changed the max width as per your link below, this fixed the grade centre scroll problem.

Are you still seeing the grade centre issue after adjusting the width? Are other users seeing this with the new theme?

Hi Craig,

I’ve done the same as you and have followed Filip Galeta’s instructions at https://community.blackboard.com/message/12135-re-q2-2016-cu1-2016-theme-impressions#comment-12135 to change the max width from 1300px to 100%, which makes a big difference when marking work in the Grade Centre on a wide screen monitor.

However, I’m concerned about the Grade Centre Scroll Bar issue you’ve mentioned below; could you point me in the right direction of how to fix this too please?

Many thanks,
Chris

Hi Martin

We are testing this currently, with Q2 2017, prior to a potential summer upgrade.

Customisations/Gremlins

· The body of the page is set to a fixed width (1300px) so on wide screens you get grey bars down the sides of the page. This can be fixed by editing the CSS (more on this on the Blackboard Community site).

· This also fixes a grade centre scroll bar issue we had ("known issue: 000043507 - 2016 Theme Breaks Grade Center Scroll Bar")

· It’s worth noting with this theme you can no longer allow users to set course themes, nor can you change course menu colours. "000042367 - Bb Learn 2016 Theme Does not allow Text Color Change of Course menu items This is by design" We use this as we produce a new version of a module/course area each year, and colour code the menus according to year. We will see what our users think of this change! We may override this.

We are now working on changes to our modules (widgets) on our community tabs, as these customisations need making responsive.

We will probably hold fire on any other customisations until we’ve gone through some user testing.

Lots of discussion about the theme on the community site: https://community.blackboard.com/

Cheers

Hi all,

Is anyone using the 'Bb 2016 Theme'? If so I'd appreciate any thoughts or comments.

Which version are you using it with?

Any gremlins or issues you've had to address?

Have you customised it at all?

Thanks in advance,

Martin
