The 3D3 Centre for Doctoral Training – a partnership between UWE Bristol, Plymouth and Falmouth Universities – has been awarded 12 fully-funded PhD studentships from the National Productivity Investment Fund to begin on 1 October 2017.

The studentships cover fees plus an annual maintenance award of £14,553. The award is for 3 years full-time but it is possible to study part-time.

The following 5 projects are with the Digital Cultures Research Centre at UWE Bristol:

• Encounters with virtual humans
• Experience design for sensory storytelling
• Future of the book
• Attention and engagement in digital media production
• Authoring Augmented Public Space

Each studentship is a collaboration between the research centre and an industrial partner that guarantees training and access to facilities, a variety of internships/placements and in some instances co-supervision. All students will be part of an interdisciplinary Design Futures Lab cohort.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to become part of an innovative and dynamic cohort of researchers dedicated to reshaping industrial technologies and processes through embedded practice-based research.
