The deadline for applications for 2 fully funded PhD positions (3 years) at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology (Halle, Germany) has been extended until 15 June 2017 (see attachment). We particularly encourage applications for projects that aim to investigate “electric statemaking” in Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia or Myanmar, for example by looking at electric infrastructure development and its environmental, social and economic impact on the ground, or at histories of electrification and everyday interactions with electricity in urban and/or rural areas.
