**With apologies for cross posting**
Good afternoon,
We are hosting a free Big Data Visualisation seminar which may be of interest to you (details below). Alternatively, please forward onto anyone you think may be interested!
Big Data Visualisation Tools and Techniques
Date: 26 May 2017
Time: 11:00 – 13:30 (10:45 registration)
Venue: University of Essex, Wivenhoe Park, Colchester, Essex
Data Visualisation is used to analyse data, and help users to understand the significance of the data more easily, by viewing it in a visual context. It is an extremely useful
method of unveiling patterns, trends and correlations in big data that might not be as clear in another format.
In this seminar, Dr Kamaran Fathulla, Senior Lecturer in Software Development at the University of Chichester Business School, will discuss various data visualisation techniques
for big data processing, including using Python programming and its Panda data structure to access Twitter data. Attendees will gain an understanding of the various tools and techniques with specific insight into the power of Python as a Big Data manipulation
tool. Attendees should have a limited prior knowledge Python or any other programming language.
This seminar is open to businesses, local authorities and students with an interest in data visualisation. This event is theoretical and therefore will explain and describe
various tools for data visualisation, with a focus on Python, however attendees will not use the programme during the session.
The seminar is taking place at the University of Essex Colchester campus from 11am-12.30pm (registration from 10.45am) and will be followed by a networking lunch until approximately
1.30pm. The main event will also be broadcast to the University’s Southend campus to allow attendees to watch from there. Registration in Southend will again begin at 10.45am and the event will conclude when the seminar finishes at 12.30pm.
