Research Associate - French Sociolinguistics Languages & Social Sciences Salary: £34,956 per annum (pro-rata) Contract Type: Fixed Term (until 30 September 2018) Basis: Part Time (0.5 FTE) Closing Date: 23.59 hours BST on Thursday 22 June 2017 Interview Date: To be confirmed Reference: R170216 Funded by the Modern Humanities Research Association that exists to support high-quality research in English and the Modern Languages, we are recruiting a part time Research Associate (0.5 FTE) for the academic year 2017-18. The MHRA Research Associate will be working on the project Back for the future of the Corpus du Français Parlé à Bruxelles the main purposes of which are the digitalization, preservation and formatting in Praat of a patrimonial corpus collected in Brussels (Blondeau 1989) to provide a diachronic dimension to the CFPB (Dister & Labeau 2013 onwards). The MHRA Research Associate will also be involved in exploiting the data for academic conferences and papers, in organizing dissemination and in preparing bids for further funding. The Research Associate will be based in Aston University’s School of Languages and Social Sciences, an ambitious, expanding, multidisciplinary school with an established reputation for excellence in teaching and research.
