Hey, I’d be up for coming to help out too, I’m not sure how appropriate our collection is – we only collect design, and architecture Zines (blog page here) and we only started recently so it’s a pretty tiny collection but I’d love to meet other librarians working with zines and of course the creators themselves.

I’ll be coming to the day either way so if you need an extra pair of hands give me a shout, I’m also happy to help out with a workshop.

Looking forward to meeting you all at some point.

Kate

P.S. Leila, thanks for the heads up on the Jo Brocklehurst exhibition, went last night for the late, it was brilliant.

Hi all,

Loesja and I would definitely be up for this, as we’re already intending on coming down anyway. As complete newcomers, not sure how it all works but we are psyched about getting word out there about our collection and being part of the UKZL presence!

Hi Leila!

It’s just an initial idea really so very flexible, but I was imagining we could each have boxes and some info about the type of zines we collect, and the person on the table could be there to chat about how libraries collect/manage zines and to support the donations. There might also be space to do a workshop which could incorporate donations as an alternative to a table.

All the best

Kirsty

Hello Kirsty,

Your idea of a Zine Librarians / Libraries communal table sounds great. How would you envisage it working? Would each library have a box of some kind or space, where they could state what kind of zine donations they are interested in receiving?

Really grand idea and a good way for zine librarians to meet and have a presence

Looking forward to the Weirdo Zine Fest. The one at DIY Space London was grand.

Leila
