Subject: The real James Watt - Films and Book

[Much more than the 'inventor' of the steam engine Who was the real James Watt?]

Mention the name of James Watt (1736 - 1819) and the immediate response is usually 'Steam Engine'! But now, as the 300th anniversary of his death approaches, historians are exploring other aspects of this multi-talented and visionary man whose attitudes and actions were
often complex.

In the next two years, History West Midlands<http://historywestmidlands.cmail19.com/t/t-l-klhlhyk-bwgutl-r/> will be contributing to this search for a broader understanding of Watt and the world in which he lived and which he did so much to change.
