Subject: [VICTORIA] Studies of the Victorian ideal of "duty"
To: "[log in to unmask]" <[log in to unmask]>

I am seeking recommendations for books or articles that discuss the Victorian ideal of "duty." I am particularly interested in the imperatives of self-sacrifice and obedience that make up part of the extremely broad and amorphous concept of "duty" in the Victorian period.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Martin
