Dear colleagues,

I’d like to draw your attention to two five-year Research Associate positions attached to the research project ‘Migrant Memory and the Post-colonial Imagination (MMPI): British Asian Memory, Identity and Community after Partition’ funded by the Leverhulme Trust led by Dr Emily Keightley.

This post offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of a long-term cutting-edge research project.  This ground-breaking work responds to the urgent need for research which captures cultural memories of Partition in the British Asian community. This research addresses how community identities, including a sense of Britishness, are produced and articulated by South Asian people in the UK through cultural practices and social processes of remembering the 1947 Partition of India.

The successful candidate will make a primary contribution to the development and delivery of the project, working closely with the Principal Investigator and seven other members of the project team as well as with key external partner organisations and the local community.

One post will be based in the Centre for Research in Communication and Culture, Loughborough University and the other in the Institute for Media and Creative Industries, Loughborough University London.
