Hello!

Many of you will have heard of Museomix, and the successful Museomix UK who delivered events with Ironbridge in 2014 and Derby in 2015.  The community that delivered Museomix UK has broadened it's remit and formed Open Community Lab as a means of applying their approach across a range of sectors.

We are currently recruiting for an Open Community Remix at the HMS Belfast coming up from Friday May 26 to Monday May 29.

For those who don't know, these events are a creative hack-a-thon style event where people from a wide range of backgrounds come together to re-mix museum displays and create and test new pro-types and installations.

Please could you share the call for applications with anyone who might be interested?  It is a great opportunity for everyone from career starters to seasoned professionals... just as importantly, we are looking for people from beyond the museum sector who want to bring new ideas to the table and put their coding, making, communication and design skills to use in a new setting.

For more information http://opencommunitylab.co.uk

Applications are due May 1st - if you have any questions, feel free to get in touch with me off-list, or talk to us on social media

Hope some of you will join us

Open Community Lab - Remix the Ship at HMS Belfast

Remix the Ship at HMS Belfast - May 26-29

Hello OCL Community Member,

We know we've been a bit quiet at Museomix UK/Open Community Lab since we took a break from the Museomix format in 2015 - but we are very much an active and evolving community - that YOU are still a part of.

Since Museomix 2014, we have been busy holding a number of skill-share events in Birmingham, Worcester and London. We also ran an exciting Kids Re-Mix at Birmingham Open Media in summer 2015, and have been busy setting ourselves up as a Community Interest Company so that our community can deliver a mix of events year-round and apply our collaborative model to many other sectors.

We are STILL THE SAME COMMUNITY!  Our ethos, mission, reason for doing things has not changed and will never change!

With all this in mind, we are SUPER-EXCITED to share details of our upcoming Remix event at HMS Belfast - this will be a bit more like the Museomix you think you know but with some creative tweaks that come from the feedback we've had from the community.
