The Motivated Memory Lab (PI: R. Alison Adcock, M.D., Ph.D.) at Duke University (
https://web.duke.edu/adcocklab/) is accepting applications for a postdoctoral researcher (“Postdoctoral Associate”) to conduct mentored research examining a real-time fMRI neurofeedback intervention for motivational deficits in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
The Motivated Memory Lab takes a multimodal approach to examining the neural and behavioral bases of motivated memory and cognition to achieve basic science and translational goals. Postdoctoral researchers will have access to the rich academic and training environment of Duke as well as the diverse community of the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, which houses several interdisciplinary institutes, including the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience, Center for Addiction & Behavior Change, and the Duke Center for Interdisciplinary Decision Science.
Strong applicants will have
• a Ph.D. in neuroscience, psychology, or a related field
• experience in acquiring, analyzing, and interpreting brain imaging data (using SPM, FSL, AFNI, or similar platforms)
• expertise in computational approaches to the study of learning and memory
• demonstrated ability to complete projects, as evidenced by first-author publications
• excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• strong statistical and technical skills (e.g., expertise in MATLAB, Python, or R)
• experience and/or interest in conducting translational research in psychiatric populations
Candidates of any background are encouraged to apply, but those with a background in neurofeedback techniques in cognitive neuroscience may be especially well-suited for this position.
