Fun with Flags!

Definately pre-1917 as the Russian flag is pre revolution.

As far as I can tell they are:

Russian Empire, Romania, Royal Italian Army, UK, Belgium, Empire of Japan and another. The last one doesn't seem to match anything...perhaps the white bit was meant to be filled in? They were all Allies in WW1 so matches your assessment.

Hello all –

We’ve had this belt (rectangular with leather straps and buckles at ends) in our possession with no provenance, we were wondering if it were made by a convalescing soldier during WWI? We also can’t quite identify all the flags (perhaps the maker ran out of the right colours of wool!) from left to right we have Russia, Romania, Italian colours but not the right design?, Great Britain, Belgium, Rising Sun Japanese flag and ?

Does anyone know any more about these or can help identify the flags?

Thanks in advance

Gillian
