Compiled over the past few decades, the list of basics has been organized into three groups: building features, portable fittings and procedures. This short list of common preventive conservation requirements includes such examples as fire suppression, which reduces a single catastrophic risk, and a reliable roof, which reduces a large number of lesser risks.
