Subject: Repository of information - normal physiological pregnancy and childbirth

Dear Colleague,

We are contacting you to ask for your help and support with our new and exciting initiative!

In this action-oriented world with an ever increasing focus on medical interventions and quick fixes during childbirth, the understanding and value of normal (uncomplicated/natural) pregnancy and birthing processes risk being lost and therewith the capacity to provide safe, effective and compassionate care for the healthy event that giving life can be.

And so…...

We are attempting to collect, store and share evidence and resources relating to normal physiological pregnancy and birth. We aim to create an online repository, a central place where resources relating to normal physiological pregnancy and birth can be stored and accessible to whoever wants to learn and share, globally. We want to include published papers (open access), documents and guidelines, films, books, teaching aids, websites etc. So, we wondered if you would be willing and able to send any resources you have or are aware of for us to consider?

We have a Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BirthRepository/ and Twitter account https://twitter.com/BirthRepository, and from October the repository will be available online.

Please could we respectfully ask you send any papers/information or resources you have to [log in to unmask]?

Looking forward to hearing from you - thank you in advance!

With very best wishes,

Sheena Byrom, Petra ten Hoope Bender, Hannah Dahlen, Soo Downe and Deirdre Munro
