Living Cities, Liveable Spaces - call for papers open!

A call for papers and posters for the upcoming Living Cities, Liveable Spaces: Placemaking & Identity conference is now open. The conference will take place on the 22nd-24th November 2017 in Valletta, Malta.

The conference explores the interplay between cultural diplomacy, place branding and liveability, particularly in light of large public events such as the European Capital of Culture. These themes will be debated within the context of citizen engagement and sustainable city development.

The conference will address the following themes:

1.       Cultural and creative expression as a cultural diplomacy tool

2.       Branding a liveable city

3.       Challenging times

4.       Future Cities

The Valletta 2018 Foundation is inviting contributions from academics, researchers, artists, urban planners, urban designers and practitioners related to any of these themes. Abstracts (250 words) addressing the conference themes will be received until 21st April 2017 via email at [log in to unmask].

The full call for papers and posters is available here or from the conference website (http://conference.valletta2018.org). For further information, contact the Valletta 2018 Foundation on the email above or on (+356) 2124 2018.
