Dear Colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that I share with you the programme for ‘Who are we?’, a project that my colleague Dr Alena Pfoser and I have been working on for a while now. Who Are We? is
a free 6-day cross-platform event, designed to facilitate the co-creation, co-production, and exchange of knowledges among artists, academics, activists, and diverse publics around the multiple crises of identity and belonging in Europe and the UK. We are
delivering this with our consortium partners from the Open University, Warwick University and Counterpoints Arts as part of Tate
Exchange at Tate Modern, London. The programme runs from the 14th to the 19th of March, and the week of activity has been specifically designed for Tate Exchange reflecting on identity, belonging,
migration and citizenship through arts and audience participation.
You can find more about the programme and book for the ticketed (but free) events here: https://www.whoareweproject.com
Thanks to the leadership of the Centre for Research in Communication and Culture, Loughborough University is one of 50 Tate Exchange Founding Associates who
are working closely with one another and with Tate to respond to the theme of ‘exchange’. Tate defines the Exchange as an annual programme that brings together international artists, over 50 partners
who work within and beyond the arts, and the public: 'A journey of discovery into the different ways that art has become active over the last 60 years and how artists have changed our understanding of what art can be and what it can do.’
It would be great to see you at Tate Modern during the ‘Who are we?’ week, if you are in London or if you are looking for ideas for the weekend. Please circulate widely to your contacts.
Best wishes,
Ele
