Hi Alwyn, I can highly recommend having a look at TAGS (Twitter Archiving Google Sheets) https://tags.hawksey.info/ a free tool developed by Martin Hawksey https://mashe.hawksey.info/. TAGS is simple to set up and can be used to archive and visualise tweets around a specific hashtag. You can find out more about TAGS here https://mashe.hawksey.info/category/tags/ and TAGSexplorer, which allows you to visualise and filter your archive, here https://mashe.hawksey.info/category/tagsexplorer/ Cheers, Lorna On 15 Mar 2017, at 13:30, Alwyn Collinson <[log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>> wrote: Hello MCG-sters, I wondered if anyone has any experience of bulk-collecting social media posts on a specific topic, perhaps within a geographical region or using a hashtag for identification? Specifically, I’m curious about the technical solutions for downloading lots of social media posts for analysis/storage, and any safeguards you put in place. I know that the US Library of Congress had an ambitious plan to archive all of Twitter a few years ago, but that seems to have severely stalled based on an article I read last year. Would welcome any pointers to other similar projects!
