Might an OU colleague bring us up-to-date with work being done in that institution?

Are folk familiar with the Institute of Educational Technology: http://www.open.ac.uk/iet/main/

and

The (former) Centre for Higher Education Research and Information (CHERI): http://www.open.ac.uk/cheri/ (closed 2011 or so)

Best wishes,

Isabelle

Does anyone know of any interesting centres or initiatives researching and contributing to HE scholarship and practice?

Could folk possibly flag up any interesting initiatives/centres/institutes/depts. etc. - that they know of at their (or other) institutions - that are engaging in learning/curriculum/educational development related work along with research in and for HE – was thinking along lines such as

Yes we are being reviewed, reorganised, restructured - again! (before previous reorganisation even finished)

"Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate integration of the younger generation into the logic of

the present system and bring about conformity or it becomes the practice of freedom, the means by which men and women

deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world."
