The History of Natural History community may well remember  Jeanne Pingree, formerly archivist at Imperial College and a long standing member of the Society for the History of Natural History. Following her death in December, her ashes, together with those of her late husband, Bill, were integrated into the compost heap at Kew Gardens on Saturday morning, 4th March,  in accordance with her wishes. Her Executor, Nick Gillies, is currently living in her house and can be contacted there.

We have also had recent news of the death of Ron Cleevely on 26th February. His funeral will be in Barnstable on Thursday 9th March. He was working on George Montagu’s Supplement to his Ornithological Dictionary prior to his death.
