Job Title: GIS Technician
Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time
Location: Central London
Start date: asap
Rate: £25k to £35k depending on experience

You will working within the team that develops our core web based mapping solution, which is sold globally into the private and public sectors.  The solution is based on Google Maps and other cloud technologies including Microsoft Azure and AWS.

Duties will include releasing software, testing software, providing 1st line support to clients, analysing usage, collating feedback and providing input into the product road map. The role will include creating use cases for the data within a web application as well as communicating to end users how data can best be used in conjunction with relevant functionality. 

Attention to detail and the ability to document processes is important. You must be able to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally at all levels of an organisation.

Whilst a GIS degree is not a pre-requisite, you will have prior experience and a passion for using location based data and software to enhance the decision making processes with organisations.

Some knowledge of at least one desktop GIS software package (ArcGIS, MapInfo, QGIS etc) including the ability to re-project datasets, write scripts/macros as well as experience of loading spatial data into relational databases would be an advantage, as would knowledge of Google Maps APIs or other web technologies inc. HTML, Javascript etc .
 
Please note that whilst the role is of a technical nature this is not specifically a software development role, it would suit someone with a few years experience looking to move into a product manager role in due course.
