CFP: Publications of the English Goethe Society: deadline 30 September 2017
 
The editors of the Publications of the English Goethe Society (PEGS) – Kevin Hilliard, Angus Nicholls and W. Daniel Wilson – are now accepting submissions for the next open-submission issue of PEGS (volume 87, no. 2, 2018, to appear in June), and for a special themed issue of the journal (volume 87, no. 3, 2018, to appear in October).

***Open Submissions***

Open submissions articles for PEGS 87, no. 2 should be sent to W. Daniel Wilson ([log in to unmask]) by 30 September 2017. Articles may be in English or German. Though we have no set parameters on length, articles are generally in the range of 5,000-10,000 words. Publication is expected in June 2018. ***Special Themed Issue***

Five-hundred word proposals for a themed special issue, either based on a conference or workshop, or commissioned as special papers, should be sent to Angus Nicholls ([log in to unmask]), also by 30 September 2017. The special issue proposals will then be reviewed by the editors, with a decision made by 15 October 2017. Publication will follow in October 2018.  Please note that following a successful referee process, special issues of PEGS may also be republished as books by Routledge under their special-issues-as-books scheme. The book version is identical to the special issue but with an added index.  For further information see here:

The English Goethe Society was founded in 1886, making it the oldest learned society in the UK dedicated to things German. Members of the international Editorial Board are listed at:

The subject areas covered by PEGS are: Goethe’s life and works and their immediate contexts; the literature and culture of 18th- and early 19th-century German-speaking lands; responses to or reception of that literature and culture both outside and within Germany up to the present day.
