The University of the West of England, Bristol, are urgently seeking to appoint a Curriculum Approval Panel External Reviewer for the Faculty of Business and Law.

 

Curriculum Approval Panels are responsible to Academic Board for the approval of new programmes and high impact amendments to existing programmes. Members of the Design Team and the Chair of the Faculty ASQC (Academic Standards and Quality Committee) will be invited to present the new programme to the Panel.  

Terms of Reference

·         to approve new programmes and modules, and amendments to existing programmes and modules, in accordance with the university’s Academic Regulations and Procedures

·         to consider the impact on the student experience of teaching, learning and assessment, of the programme or in relation to any changes to a programme;

·         to consider the impact on the student experience of proposed closure of programmes;

·         to consider and approve changes to award titles;

 

CAP meets four times a year at the UWE Frenchay Campus in Bristol. This appointment is due to start from 1^st October 2017 and will finish on 30^th September 2021.

 

Provisional Dates for 2017/18 are (to be confirmed after May 2017):

16^th November 2017 (2.00pm until 4.30pm)

30^th January 2018 (2.00pm until 4.30pm)

22^nd March 2018 (2.00pm until 4.30pm)

12^th June 2018 (2.00pm until 4.30pm)

 

Prior to each meeting, the documentation is made available for you to look at i.e. new programme spec, new module specs and documentation demonstrating the design process for each.

  

You will be required to produce an annual report at the end of the academic year, there is a template for this, commenting on your experience of the year and generally on the curriculum you have reviewed.

 

Tenure: 1^st October 2017 until 30^th September 2021

Fee: £550 per annum following receipt of your annual report.
