Higher Education Academy (HEA) Senior and Principal Fellow writing retreat events 2017

The HEA organises events for prospective applicants looking to gain HEA Fellowship across disciplines, specialisms and levels of experience.

Our Fellowship events range from conferences on the UK Professional Standards Framework for professionalising HE teaching to continuing professional development courses differentiated by discipline or teaching career stage, at institutional level.

The HEA would like to invite you to participate in a structured writing day to develop your Senior or Principal Fellow application. Our writing retreats are designed for colleagues with significant experience of influence and leadership in higher education. Each event provides time and space to think, discuss and reflect on your professional practice away from busy day-to-day working lives.

The key aims of each event are to:

Each event will include briefings, group sessions as well as one-to-one advice and guidance with experienced staff. We will adopt a flexible agenda and work in response to participant needs.

As part of the event fee, participants will have access to resources and materials such as annotated exemplar applications, excerpts, learning and teaching literature and the option to have a draft of their application reviewed with personalised feedback.

Dates and locations of future events are as follows:

·        Thursday 30th March, York

·        Wednesday 26th April, Leicester

·        Tuesday 16th May, London

·        Thursday 18th May, Cardiff

·        Thursday 29th June, Bristol

·        Wednesday 19th July

If you reserve a place at one of our events, to ensure maximum use of the time available, please bring your computer equipment and have access to documentation about your professional practice (e.g. CV's, professional development records, draft sections of your application).

Places are available on a first come first serve basis. If you are unsure which writing retreat is right for you, please contact [log in to unmask] or telephone: +44(0)1904 717500 and one of our team will be happy to help.

The HEA is looking forward to working with you in your goal to achieve HEA Fellowship.

Regards
Raj
