Hi,

Having had two different answers from SFE on the same question, I am a little confused about whether remote support (Specialist Skills and Specialist Mentoring Band 4) can be automatically provided to students where this is their choice or whether it has to be specifically requested through the Assessor (SNA) and then specifically included on the DSA 2.

I note the Framework document states:-


Remote NMH support (for example over Skype) should only be provided where specifically recommended (including as an alternative) in the Needs Assessment Report.

However upon requesting this for specific students as they were on placement and away from the University, we were authorised to provide it for one via an email from SFE (but not provided with an updated DSA 2) and in another instance told that as long as it is the students' choice, it is ok to provide remote support occasionally.

Any thoughts anyone?  Or advice?  I would email them directly but I'm still waiting a reply to my email of 22nd February!
