The Institute of Physics is launching a new report:

Building momentum towards inclusive learning and teaching: a guide to good practice in undergraduate physics

On Tuesday 2nd May 2017 at the Institute of Physics, 80 Portland Place, London W1B 1NT

from 1.30pm to 4pm. A buffet lunch will be available from 12.30pm

This new report is the culmination of an innovative project investigating inclusive learning in undergraduate teaching and learning in physics departments. There are particular challenges in moving towards a more inclusive learning environment in STEM, and physics in particular, due to the wide range of learning environments and activities involved in teaching, such a lab sessions, problem classes and fieldwork, the use of mathematical and scientific notation and the lack of specialist expertise in this area. This report, based on current good practice already adopted within physics departments, aims to share progress and provide guidance to help remove barriers to a more inclusive STEM learning environment.

Places are free, but are limited so you must register in advance. Please register here https://www.iopconferences.org/iop/1073/home

Best wishes
