Dear Critters,

I am writing to let you know that the Indian Institute for Human
Settlements has launched the Urban Fellows Programme (UFP) 2017-18
<https://goo.gl/aOr267>. The UFP is one of our flagship teaching
programmes, which aims to equip, nurture and prepare a new generation of
graduates and young professionals to address India's complex urban
challenges.

The UFP is a fully funded, nine month, full-time, interdisciplinary
programme based at the IIHS City Campus in Bangalore. It seeks to combine
classroom based teaching, site- based applied learning, work in live
projects, and external internships to introduce learners to diverse forms
of urban practice.

The first UFP iteration commenced in August 2016. We received an
overwhelming response of over 700 applications out of which a dynamic class
of 30 were selected from across India from diverse disciplinary backgrounds
with a keen desire to play a role in India's urban transformation. The
Fellows have completed seven months of the taught component and are now on
two-month internships at various organisations across the country. The UFP
2016-17 batch will graduate in May 2017.

The second iteration of this programme will run from August 2017 to May
2018 for a batch of 35 Fellows. The fellowship covers tuition costs and
provides accommodation support. Applicants with significant financial need
may also apply for an additional living stipend, which will be reviewed on
a case-by-case basis. Recent graduates and young professionals from varied
educational backgrounds or practice domains up to the age of 30 are
eligible to apply. Applications to the UFP 2017-18 are now open and will
close on 1 May 2017.

It would be great if you could help us reach out to potential applicants,
especially final-year undergraduate and masters students as well as recent
graduates, who would be interested in applying to this programme.
