The theme this year is ‘Beyond islands of innovation – how Learning Technology became the new norm(al)’. The Call for Proposals is now open.

2.3 UCISA 2017 bursary scheme

The scheme gives staff the opportunity to go to an event they would not usually have the opportunity to attend, then disseminate what they have learnt to others within higher and further education, including the UCISA community. Applications are welcomed from across all disciplines and grades, and particularly from junior staff. Deadline for applications 5 April 2017.

2.7 Call for Ideas: Celtic Knot - Wikipedia Language Conference, Edinburgh, 5 - 6 July 2017

Focusing on Celtic and Indigenous Languages, this event showcases innovative approaches to open education, open knowledge and open data that support and grow language communities. Suggested ideas and session proposals should be no longer than 100 words.

2.8 Invitation to tender: A web-based information toolkit for research leaders

The Leadership Foundation (LF) are looking for an individual or team with the necessary technical skills to develop a web-based information Impact Toolkit for university research leaders.

This digitisation-project will transform the document-based Research Leader’s Impact Toolkit into a product that illustrates the content, provides logical and fluid navigation, and supports an effective and efficient user experience. Deadline for tender submissions: 17 March 2017

2.9 Reminder: Research and Innovation in Distance Education and E-learning Conference 2017 Learning and Teaching in a Digital Age, London, 24 March 2017

This one-day event explores new directions and developments in distance education and technology-enhanced learning. It has a strong research focus and incorporates outputs from the CDE’s programme of Teaching and Research Awards. Themes are: Open Educational Resources, Massive Open Online Courses, and Innovation. Keynote speakers are Professor Anne Boyer, University of Lorraine, Nancy, and Simon Nelson, CEO, Futurelearn.

2.10 Call for Papers: 15th Academic Practice and Technology (APT) 2017, Greenwich, 4 July 2017

Co-hosted by the University of Greenwich and London School of Economics (LSE). Conference theme is: ‘The future ain't what it used to be: inventing and re-imagining higher education practice’. Keynotes include Dr George Siemens and Dr Ed De Quincey. Contributions invited from colleagues who are pushing boundaries; evolving teaching and learning practices; developing new curricula; creating new collaborations or markets; analysing big data.
